Turtle Bars Turtle Bars
A candy lover's dream, these dessert bars are packed with all the right stuff: pecans, chocolate and toffee bars.
SERVES: 32
PREP TIME: 15 Minutes
COOK TIME: 180 Minutes
Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), plus more for the pan
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 14-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup pecans, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup toffee-and-chocolate pieces

Directions
Step 1  Step 1:
Heat oven to 350? F. Butter a 13- by 9-inch pan.

Step 2  Step 2:
Place the flour, confectioners' sugar, and butter in the bowl of a food processor and pulse to form a coarse crumble.

Step 3  Step 3:
Turn the dough out into the prepared pan and press it evenly on the bottom and up the sides. Bake until lightly golden, 10 to 12 minutes.

Step 4  Step 4:
Whisk together the condensed milk, egg, and vanilla in a medium bowl. Pour the filling into the baked crust.

Step 5  Step 5:
Sprinkle the pecans, chocolate chips, and toffee pieces evenly over the top of the filling. Bake until the filling is set, the edges are golden brown, and the toffee has melted, about 25 minutes.

Step 6  Step 6:
Transfer to a wire rack and let cool 15 minutes, then refrigerate until cooled completely, about 2 hours. Cut into bars before serving.
